No Refunds on Digital Content
In accordance with Section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA) and Section 19(9) of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), digital goods that have been accessed or downloaded are excluded from the standard right of return. Once you open or access a purchased ebook, your purchase is final and non-refundable.
Exceptions - Refunds will be considered when:
- The ebook file is technically corrupted or unreadable and we are unable to provide a replacement within 5 business days
- You were charged multiple times for the same purchase due to a platform error

Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of purchase to support@devv.co.za with your order reference number.
2. Free Books & Preview Chapters
Free books and free preview chapters are provided at no cost. No refund applies to free content. If a book was listed as free in error (pricing mistake), we may correct the price for future purchases but will honour the free access already granted.
3. Author Publishing - No Subscription Fees
Publishing on the Platform is free. Devv Technology does not charge authors any monthly or annual subscription fees. Authors earn revenue through book sales, and Devv Technology retains a commission of 20% per sale (or 40% for books opted into Featured Placement). There are no upfront costs and no subscription refund scenarios applicable.
4. Impact on Author Earnings
When a reader successfully receives a refund for a book purchase, the corresponding author earnings are reversed as follows:
- If the sale is still within the 7-day holding period, the pending earnings are cancelled in full
- If the earnings have already moved to the Available Balance, the refund amount is deducted from your Available Balance
- If your Available Balance is insufficient, the amount is offset against future earnings
You will receive an email notification whenever a refund affects your wallet balance. Authors may not dispute a refund that qualifies under this policy.
5. Refund Processing Time
- Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days
- Refunds are returned to the original payment method (card or bank account used for the purchase)
- Processing times may vary depending on your bank or card issuer
- Paystack processing fees (if any) are non-refundable and will be deducted from the refund amount
6. Chargebacks
Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us is a breach of these Terms. If a chargeback is filed, we will contest it and may permanently suspend your account. We encourage you to contact us directly to resolve any payment dispute - we are committed to fair outcomes.
7. How to Request a Refund
